Silver Dollar City is a theme park located in Branson. It was opened in 1960 and is known for its 1880s Ozark Mountain theme. The park is owned and operated by Herschend Family Entertainment and spans over 100 acres.

The iconic theme park offers a variety of attractions and entertainment options for visitors of all ages. It features more than 40 rides and attractions, including roller coasters, water rides, family-friendly rides, and live shows. Some of the popular rides include Outlaw Run, a wooden roller coaster, and Time Traveler, a spinning coaster with a vertical drop.

In fact, roller coaster enthusiast groups from around the world head to Branson to check out the rides, which have been called some of the best in the world. The 2018 addition, Time Traveler, adds to the other coasters now operating at the park including Powder Keg, Wildfire, and Outlaw Run, which was in the Guinness Book of World Records for the steepest drop of any wooden roller coaster and three inversions.

“We didn’t set out to become a roller coaster mecca,” says Brad Thomas, the General Manager of the park. “What we wanted to do is build rides that are novel, that are unique, and that are so different that people will travel from a distance to come to Silver Dollar City.”

In addition to the rides, the park showcases traditional crafts and demonstrates various trades from the 19th century. Visitors can watch artisans creating pottery, glassware, blacksmithing, and other traditional crafts. The park also hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, such as the Bluegrass & BBQ Festival, Harvest Festival, and An Olde Time Christmas celebrations.

Silver Dollar City offers a unique blend of thrilling rides, live entertainment, and educational experiences, making it a popular destination for families and tourists visiting the Branson area.
