MLB Star Cole Hamels’ $10-Million Missouri Mansion Heading to Auction

Ever dreamed of customizing your own 33,000-square-foot lakefront castle? Now might be your chance—if you’ve got the vision (and the bankroll) to pull it off. Yes, there is now an auction for Cole Hamels mansion.

A massive, unfinished mega-mansion once owned by World Series MVP Cole Hamels is hitting the block in southwest Missouri next month. Perched on a sprawling 104-acre estate along Table Rock Lake, this bank-ordered property is officially going to the highest online bidder.

The home was built in Branson because Hamels’ wife (now divorced), Heidi Strobel, was from southwest Missouri. She starred on Survivor.

Here is what you need to know about one of the Ozarks’ most unique real estate listings:

The Property Breakdown

  • The Main Event: A partially built, 33,000-square-foot smart home featuring vaulted ceilings, massive rustic wood beams, and a resort-style, beach-entry infinity pool overlooking the lake. Because it’s unfinished, the next owner gets full creative control over the final luxury finishes.
  • The Shoreline: Over 1,700 feet of prime Table Rock Lake waterfront.
  • The Guest House: A fully functional, separate 3,600-square-foot residence featuring 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and its own 3-car garage.
  • Bonus Amenities: Custom copper gutters, a massive detached building built specifically for RV and boat storage, and an expansive outdoor playground.

A Wild Real Estate History

If this property sounds familiar, it’s because it has quite the backstory. Former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels originally started constructing the compound during his playing career. In 2017, Hamels and his family made headlines when they generously donated the entire $10 million-plus estate to Camp Barnabas. That is a local non-profit serving children with special needs and chronic illnesses.

The charity later sold the compound to a private couple. After putting the property back on the market in 2024, it went into foreclosure. That led to the upcoming bank-ordered sale via Target Auctions.

How to Bid

The sale is being handled digitally through Target Auctions:

  • Bidding Opens: September 17
  • Bidding Closes: September 24 at 11:00 AM CST
  • Location: 2866 State Highway DD, Branson West, MO

Whether it gets turned into a private family estate, a high-end retreat, or a boutique resort, one thing is for sure: whoever wins this auction is landing a truly one-of-a-kind piece of Ozark real estate.
