Hall Brook Farms in Joplin

Hall Brook Farms east of Joplin is one of the biggest homes in the state of Missouri. It boasts more than 16,000 square feet, but the size is just the beginning of this amazing home. When the home was originally built, it sat on more than 200 acres with a 10,000 square foot “guest house” to complement the equestrian farm. But legal issues against the owner put the future of the complex in questions.

The farm and home at 5964 W 7th Street was owned by Gary Hall. He was a wealthy business owner in southwest Missouri who owned several businesses, including Hall’s Convenience Stores, and was a benefactor to many local organizations. But in 2012, the Security Bank of Tulsa put a lien on the property to recover debts owed by Hall’s estate. Those totaled $5.6-million from legal issues surrounding paying cigarette tax stamps.

The Estate:

  • Some estimates put the value of the property at nearly $10,000,000.
  • Main house – 16,306 square feet
  • Guest house – 10,905 square feet
  • Barns and out-buildings
  • Equestrian Race Track
  • Indoor and outdoor swimming pools
  • 8-car garage
