The Top Towns To Call Home in the Show Me State

NOTE: After getting hundreds of messages about this story,
I think it’s important to point out that I have lived in over 25 places in Missouri,
so I am a bit of an expert on this topic.
And I can tell you that there are very few places in Missouri where I wouldn’t live!!

We all have our favorite hometown. Sure, your hometown may not be for everyone, but it is special to you. That said, there are some places in Missouri that a cut above. You can crunch the numbers and see. That is exactly what US News and World Report did to come up with the Best Places to Live in Missouri for 2025-26. They took 6 key metrics to come up with the list — and here they are!

NOTE: I know what some of you are thinking; “how are some of the high crime cities on the list and my town is not?” The answer to that is… I don’t know. I’m sure their criteria does not exactly match up with yours!

1. O’Fallon

O’Fallon is a vibrant, fast-growing suburb in St. Charles County, consistently ranked among the best places to live in the U.S. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, it offers top-rated schools, expansive parks like Fort Zumwalt, and the popular T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
