Missouri is home to numerous lakes, both natural and artificial. There are over 6,000 bodies of water across the state that range from small ponds to larger reservoirs, including 568 that are classified as lakes. Many of the larger ones are an important part of the economy of the Show Me State, bringing millions of tourists to the state annually.
