The Kauffman Center houses two major performance venues:

  1. Muriel Kauffman Theatre: This theater has seating for approximately 1,800 people and is primarily used for hosting ballets, opera, Broadway shows, and other theatrical performances.

The Kauffman Center’s architecture is modern and visually striking, with its sweeping curves and glass façade. In fact, it was one of the most difficult buildings ever to design and build due to exacting standards for the performance hall. Besides hosting performances, the center also offers educational programs and community events to promote the arts and enrich the cultural experiences of the Kansas City community and its visitors.
